Who we are
Open Stent Solution (OSS) is pioneering advancements in the field of transcatheter (percutaneous) heart valve replacement with its innovative Ribbon Valve technology, designed to address and to treat heart valve disease. Our objective for the Cornelis Valve device is to provide a less invasive (percutaneous) alternative for heart valve replacement, offering a solution that conforms to the patient's anatomy, with the goal of benefiting a broad patient population.
To address the challenge faced by patients suffering from mitral heart disease who cannot undergo open-heart surgery, we have developed an innovative solution: a minimally invasive device. Launched in 2021, our initiative focused on creating an innovative open stent, ribbon-shaped and deployed through a catheter, moving away from the traditional closed stent approach. This innovation was aimed at bypassing the challenges associated with current percutaneous valve replacement methods. It allows for the employment of narrow catheters during the valve implantation process without the constraint of the valve's size, significantly enhancing the procedure's accessibility, minimizing its invasiveness, and ultimately improving safety for patients.
Having secured seed funding in 2021, our dedicated team of expert engineers, has made significant strides in the development of the valved ribbon device, with the goal of introducing it to the markets in Europe, the United States, and Japan by 2032.
